Save Money Or Have Fun With Friends? Do Both!

May 29, 2013 | Budgeting

The next time your group of friends make plans to get together, jump in with this suggestion for a fun night in before everyone commits to an expensive evening out. Rather than heading to the movies, where tickets can cost up to $15 a pop (not to mention the pricey popcorn and snacks), have the group over for a cozy movie night.

Pick a favorite flick so everyone can shout out the lines together, or run with a theme (spy thrillers! superheroes! documentaries!) and host a marathon. Make it a regular event where friends can take turns bringing a DVD, or you can stream films online. For the price of popcorn and a soda at the movie theater, you’ll be able to stock up on snacks for the whole group. Staying in and saving, while still seeing your friends – a win-win!
