Family Finances: When Art Imitates Life

And the Oscar goes to…

This  past Sunday night, many of us tuned into the 84th Academy Awards, where the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences recognized the excellence of professionals in the film industry, including directors, actor’s and writers on Hollywood’s biggest night.

Many incredible films were nominated for awards this year, including The Descendants.  This film received five nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor for George Clooney.  This movie tells the story of a man dealing with traumatic life changes, including the complexities of death and family relationships.  Without giving away too many details of the movie (for those of you who haven’t seen it yet), George Clooney’s character (Matt), faces difficult financial decisions that may put him at odds with other members of his family.

I recently spoke to Reuters about this sensitive subject: YOUR MONEY: Suing descendants, in real life.    Estate planning conversations can be quite emotional, but they are best discussed in a timely manner in order to make the best possible decisions for you and your loved ones.  At LexION Capital Management, we build personalized portfolios to meet the unique needs and time horizon of each and every client.  There is no “one size fits all” circumstance, so we do not offer a “one size fits all” investment solution.  We work with you to craft a distinctive investment plan that is uniquely suited to your goals, whether that is the creation of a sound retirement nest egg or how to best pass wealth to your beloved descendants.
